From the Principal

Tēnā koutou te Whānau Whanui Te Kāreti Taitama o Wairau.

We have a long and proud history of providing the young men of Blenheim, and the surrounding districts, with challenging opportunities and high standards of excellence in all aspects of daily life.

As we move toward the co-location with Te Kāreti Kōhine o Wairau (MGC), our Board of Trustees and staff are striving to foster and develop our relationships with mana whenua Ngāti Toa Rangatira, Ngāti Rārua, Ngāti Kuia, Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō, and Rangitāne o Wairau.

This was exemplified by the gifting of the name Te Tātoru o Wairau to the planning and rebuild of Bohally Intermediate and the two secondary schools. Our school vision and values are at the core of what we do here at Marlborough Boys’ College. They are respect, responsibility, involvement and pride, while striving to be the best that they can be.

Underpinning our vision to ensure all our students succeed is the fundamental belief that it takes hard work to strive for their best academic qualification. We have an experienced and committed team of teachers here to ensure that the highest levels of academic achievement can be obtained through focus and determination.

Current future job trends highlight the importance of offering multiple pathways into the workforce, as well as enabling our young men to advance their academic studies at a tertiary institution of their choice. We are committed to providing a safe and inclusive school environment for all our students.

We encourage our young men to embrace all academic, sporting and cultural pursuits, to discover a new passion and to contribute to the life of the school.

I warmly welcome you to visit the school in person and to meet our amazing students and teachers here at Marlborough Boys’ College. To arrange a visit, please email the school or phone 03 578 0119.
