International students are welcome at Marlborough Boys' College in Blenheim, New Zealand. Blenheim is a safe and affordable education option.  We have a rich history and pride in serving the Marlborough region of the upper South Island.  Blenheim is a beautiful boutique town in the midst of wide open spaces. Living here you will enjoy many sunshine hours.  There is an abundance of outdoor activities and Marlborough is world famous as NZ’s largest grape growing and premium wine producing region. Our province enjoys stunning scenery and a variety of tourist attractions. Blenheim is only a short flight or drive from three main centres, Nelson, Wellington and Christchurch, therefore opportunities for travel and exploration are great.

Our international programme is small in scale (maximum 20 students). We have students from a variety of countries and provide a supportive and challenging environment. Our curriculum allows students to access a wide range of learning opportunities and multiple learning pathways. The school hosts students for year-long programmes of study and also has a number of short-stay international students at times during the school year.

International students live with local homestay families and this allows students greater opportunities to experience our culture and improve their language skills. Our homestay families are carefully selected and NZ Police vetted.
Our teaching staff work with the students in classroom situations as well as on a one-to-one basis to help non-English speakers progress to a point where they can integrate fully into the school curriculum.   We have staff who are responsible for International Student Academic Programme and Monitoring Oversight and Homestay Coordination to give extra support to students when they first arrive in NZ.  Students are taken through a school-wide orientation programme on arrival. The pastoral care of our International Students and assisting them to make the most of their time at Marlborough Boys’ College is foremost in the minds of all.
English as a Second Language (ESOL) classes are scheduled for all International Students after they have been tested.
